Happy Easter or Resurrection Day

The day before yesterday I received a call on the home phone from my Dad.  He was in the driveway.  He asked me to come out.  I went out and he presented me with this beautiful Easter Lily.  None of the blossoms had bloomed yet.  So he called me yesterday and asked if any of the blossoms had bloomed.  I said that one of them had.  So we were confident it would be blooming for Easter.  That satisfied him.  What a sweet thing for him to do.  We will enjoy it on Easter when we gather for a brunch.  We are going to have Swedish Pancakes.  However, I'm going to to have sweet and savory sidedishes.  It's an idea I just came up with.  I hope it goes over well.

I was thinking about my mom and what she might have written about Easter in her book that she wrote just before she passed away in October of last year.  I found something on the last page of her book titled, "One Last Reminder Of What Really Matters!"  Here is what she said.

"I must tell you one more time that our precious and righteous God has provided us with everything we need for a full abundant life continuing for eternity.  His great and many promises are ours if we are believers.  Heaven and hell are Real!  It is up to us and we are responsible for where we spend life after this earthly existence.  He has written his plans in the Scriptures so we will know how to believe and behave in keeping with His will.  First, He gave us His Son, His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.  Think on that for a moment!  His Son gave us His life and His righteous robe by dying on the cross to redeem us from sin and make us qualified for heaven.  Then, His Holy Spirit gives us comfort, guidance, power and peace to be the person God wants us to be and to do what He wants us to do; and that is how to be a Success.  The Christian Faith is unique and provides us with the relationship that meets all the requirements that are needed.  All we need do is accept what He has given with thanksgiving and we will experience the glorious blessings He has promised.  When we receive Jesus Christ, the Son, as our Savior and Lord, we will want to obey Him, act on our faith, His gift and learn patiently to wait for His perfect timing.  Growth in this faith takes time but it will be fruitful.  Hope is the confident expectation that because God is unable to lie, His Word is our anchor.  The more we read and listen to His Word, the more we will return His love and give Him praise and glory due His name.  Joy is the outcome and who doesn't want joy in their life?  Eternity is a long time, hell is only darkness, loneliness, pain and endless suffering, so Now is the time for decision, we don't know what tomorrow brings and there is no assurance of a better time."

See you in Heaven!
